this is why you go camping and overlanding, to find somewhere in the middle of nowhere. To chill, relax, unwind and enjoy the simple, uncomplicated luxury of nature. Stunning star-filled skies, absolute silence, remote tranquility. And a small sense of satisfaction in the effort getting here...
If you've made it to here, you're probably an overlander, an adventure biker, or perhaps you took a wrong turn into the wilderness and kept driving because, yes! That's why. The mad rush of the city is far behind you, and you know exactly how the remote bushveld can reset your adventure-filled senses.
At the end of the Biedouw Valley - on the shortcut from Tankwa Karoo to the Pakhuipas where the Biedouw and the Doring River meet - you will find the Madwaleni Pub right next to the road in the rugged, rustic surroundings, completely off the grid. And 'Madwaleni' means exactly that - you're right where you need to be!
If you're looking for somewhere to pitch your tent, park your overlander, or trail bike, here's the perfect waypoint to 'uitspan' for a night under the stars. Camp near the river on our basic, wild camping areas, with the bush pub nearby for a refreshing drink.
